Detectives reported that an unknown number of assailants raided a construction site in the Oloolua area of Kajiado County, fatally injuring a night guard and escaping with construction materials.
Police stated that a second guard was also seriously injured during the Thursday morning incident.
According to authorities, the attackers targeted the site in Hill Top estate, fleeing with assorted construction materials and office equipment. The two guards were later discovered with their hands and legs tied inside a room.
One of the guards, identified as Lampart Lenkoyo, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene, while his colleague sustained multiple injuries and was admitted to hospital in serious condition.
The deceased’s body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Police confirmed that investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible for the attack. They further noted that the area has experienced a rise in construction activity, alongside an increase in incidents targeting construction sites.
Authorities added that more patrols and operations will be deployed to enhance security.
