Kenya is in talks with Russian authorities to secure the release of its citizens reportedly trapped in the country’s ongoing military operations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that diplomatic channels have been activated to establish the exact number of Kenyans involved and to ensure their safe return home.
According to government sources, some Kenyans are believed to have been lured to Russia with promises of lucrative jobs, only to find themselves recruited into combat zones.
Officials say efforts are underway to verify these reports and provide assistance through Kenya’s embassy in Moscow.
The ministry has also cautioned Kenyans against falling for online job offers or recruitment drives that appear suspicious, noting that several similar scams have been reported in recent months.
