Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham, says James Maddison might make his FA Cup comeback against Manchester City on Friday.

Madison, a midfielder, hasn’t played since November due to an ankle problem.

While Erling Haaland of City is nearing his comeback but is not yet eligible, Tottenham defenders Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero are fit.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will host Spurs and City in the fourth-round match at 20:00 GMT.

“There aren’t too many in the league that are like him,” stated Postecoglou of Maddison.

He added: “It just helps our ability to prepare for the challenges ahead. We have been through a difficult period.”

With 14 goals this season, Haaland is tied with Mohamed Salah of Liverpool for the most goals scored in the Premier League. However, a foot ailment has kept Haaland off the field for City since early December.

Pep Guardiola, the manager of City, stated on Thursday that although “he is close,” he is still not ready for tomorrow. “He trained, is not perfect and we will wait a little bit more.”

Goalkeeper Ederson and defender John Stones are available for selection, although Switzerland’s Manuel Akanji is remains out for City.
