Thiago Alcantara, Liverpool’s midfield player, is reportedly dealing with a new injury after developing a muscular problem on Thursday.

Before making his Liverpool debut in the 85th minute of Sunday’s 3-1 loss to Arsenal, Thiago had been sidelined since April due to hip and hamstring problems.

After the match, the 32-year-old Spaniard is thought to have complained of discomfort in his muscles, and he will now likely have to miss another match due to injury.

Thiago’s contract expires at the end of this season, and considering his fitness concerns, his future at Anfield is uncertain.

The absence of the former great player for Bayern Munich would hurt Liverpool, who lead the Premier League by two points and play Chelsea in the League Cup final on February 25.

Additionally, Jurgen Klopp’s team qualifies to the Europa League last 16 and the FA Cup fifth round matchup against Southampton.

Dominik Szoboszlai, a midfielder for Hungary, is already out of Saturday’s match against struggling Burnley at Anfield due to an aggravating hamstring injury.

Wataru Endo might be ready to cover the void in Liverpool’s midfield following Japan’s exit from the Asian Cup.

Mohamed Salah, Reds forward, is still out while he heals from a hamstring injury he sustained playing for Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations last month.
