Ezekiel Kiche, the Tseikuru subcounty police chief in Kitui county, stated on Sunday that a policewoman who died while visiting her fiancé died of natural causes that are still being looked into.

“We will know exactly what the policewoman was suffering from once the postmortem is conducted. I cannot disclose more details at the moment,”  Kiche stated over the phone on Sunday morning.

According to a Tseikuru police report, the deceased officer was a drill instructor and constable who had been visiting her fiancé at Kaningo village when the tragedy occurred.

On January 27, the deceased made his way to the house of his fiancée, a fellow police officer in Kaningo.

The report also stated that when she got to her fiancé’s house, the deceased started complaining of excruciating headaches and started throwing up.

She was brought to a Mumoni Nursing Home in Tseikuru Township the next day, where she received care before being released.

She was brought back to the medical center on February 1st, though, when her illness returned, and this time she was well enough to be released.

The police report further states that the day after, her condition deteriorated and she was returned to the assisted living facility, where she died while receiving care.

While the district directorate of criminal investigation carried out further inquiry, the body was sent to the Kyuso Level IV hospital.
