Nairobi Woman Found Dead After Toothache Complaint in Drive-In Estate
Police in Nairobi County are investigating the sudden death of a woman who was found dead in her house after complaining of a severe toothache.
The deceased, identified as Deborah Awinja, aged 45, reportedly experienced tooth pain on October 24 before retiring to bed after taking painkillers.
According to a police report, Awinja’s son discovered her unresponsive the next morning and immediately called a doctor from a nearby clinic, who confirmed her death at the scene.
Body Taken to Mortuary for Autopsy
Police officers were alerted and later moved the body to the mortuary for an autopsy and other necessary procedures to establish the exact cause of death.
Authorities have not ruled out medical complications and say the postmortem results will determine the next steps in the investigation.
“The body was taken to the city mortuary pending further medical examination,” police confirmed.
Investigations Underway
Detectives from the Nairobi Area Police Command have launched an inquiry into the incident, describing it as a sudden and unexplained death. Family and neighbours have since expressed shock over the tragedy, saying the deceased had shown no signs of serious illness before going to bed.
