The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is seeking assistance from the public to help apprehend three primary suspects involved in the murder of British national Campbell Scott.
The homicide team at DCI has identified the suspects as Benard Mbunga Mbusu, Samuel Musembi Kamitu, and Alphonse Munyao Kilewa, also known as Edu. They are connected to the violent death of the 58-year-old, whose decaying body was found in Makongo Forest, Makueni.
Authorities believe the suspects lured Scott, who was in Nairobi, under the pretense of a business meeting before he vanished on February 17, leading to his murder.
In addition, police have detained two other individuals who are assisting with the investigation.
Alex Mutua Kithuka and Albunus Mutinda Nzioki appeared before Magistrate Lukas Onyina on Monday.
The court was informed that initial investigations suggest Scott was taken to Mutua’s residence in Pipeline, Nairobi, where he is thought to have been killed.
The prosecution revealed that the two suspects allegedly tried to use Scott’s credit cards in Nairobi, Voi, and Mombasa.
They were apprehended on March 1 along the Nairobi-Mombasa Road, and it was discovered that the first suspect had already vacated his Pipeline home.
