TikTok has unveiled strategic collaborations in Kenya with Aleph Holdings and Wowzi, aimed at enhancing its local footprint and bolstering the nation’s creative landscape.

As part of these partnerships, Aleph’s Kenyan team will manage TikTok’s sales and support functions, offering businesses direct access to valuable insights, personalized assistance, and efficient advertising solutions.

Meanwhile, Wowzi, a prominent technology marketplace, will serve as TikTok’s creator management partner, empowering Kenyan creators with mentorship, guidance, and improved opportunities to engage with brands and agencies.

“We take immense pride in our dynamic and swiftly expanding community in Kenya,” stated Carl Jordan, Head of Sales, Global Business Solutions, TikTok – Sub Saharan Africa.

“Our alliances with Aleph and Wowzi underscore our strong dedication to enhancing the local creative ecosystem and fostering economic development. These partnerships not only provide Kenyan advertisers with unparalleled access to innovative digital advertising formats and customized local support but also create new avenues for talented local creators to flourish and grow their presence on the platform.”

Stephen Newton, Regional Managing Director – Sub-Saharan Africa at Aleph Holdings, emphasized the importance of this shift.

“In Kenya, social media advertising is mainly handled by in-house teams conducting research on best practices and using company credit cards for campaign bookings,” he explained.

“With Aleph collaborating with TikTok in the local market, businesses will benefit from cost savings by paying in local currency, while also gaining direct insights from TikTok,” Newton concluded.

TikTok’s dedication to fostering talent in Kenya was previously showcased through the #LevelUpAfrica Program, which was launched in 2021.

This program has empowered many Kenyan creators to enhance their TikTok abilities, establish their personal brands, and discover fresh opportunities in the creator economy.
