The National Youth Service (NYS) has announced a recruitment drive for volunteers nationwide to contribute to the nation’s development.

According to an advertisement featured in the MyGov publication, the recruitment will run from Monday, February 10, to Saturday, February 15.

To be eligible, all applicants must be Kenyan citizens residing in the sub-counties where they are applying and must have achieved a minimum KCSE mean grade of D plain.

Additionally, candidates must present an original National ID, a Certificate of Good Conduct, undergo a medical examination during and after the recruitment process, and be ready to participate in an intensive training program.

Those who are selected will be required to attend the NYS paramilitary course at the Academy located in Gilgil and Naivasha, with specific dates and times outlined in the calling letters they will receive.

NYS will give special consideration to orphans who meet the criteria, as well as individuals with disabilities, provided they can complete the physical training requirements.

The notice emphasized that “NYS does not tolerate corruption in any form. Engaging in canvassing or offering bribes for admission is a serious offense that could result in immediate disqualification or legal action.”
