A rescue operation is currently in progress following the collapse of a multi-storey building under construction in Rongo town, located in Migori County.
While the exact number of individuals who were inside the building at the time of the collapse remains unknown, it is feared that several people may still be trapped within the debris.
Authorities have reported that a man and a woman who were in proximity to the site sustained minor injuries and have been transported to a medical facility for treatment.
Local leaders, including Rongo Member of Parliament Paul Abuor, are present at the scene as rescue efforts continue.
Abuor has stated that additional equipment has been mobilized to assist in the ongoing rescue operations.
The legislator also mentioned that they have not yet determined the total number of individuals still trapped in the collapsed structure.
