After a truck they were travelling in rolled along the Nairobi-Garissa Highway in Machakos County, two persons sustained minor injuries.
The event occurred on Monday in the Makutano ya Ndalani area, and the only people inside the truck were the driver and the turnboy.
Only a few minutes after 6:00 p.m., when the accident happened.
As traffic backed up on the highway, police hurried to the scene to secure the situation.
The truck was transporting relief food from Nairobi to Garissa County at the time of the tragedy, sources disclosed.
Among other things, they contained salt, beans, and cooking oil.
The vehicle is still on scene.
A police watch is in place as the goods are moved to another truck.
