Police have launched investigations into the death of a woman whose decomposed body was discovered wrapped in a bedsheet in Muthurwa, Nairobi County.
The deceased has been identified as Resa Lumbasi, aged 40.
Body Discovered After Foul Smell Alert
According to police and local residents, the body was discovered on January 7, 2026, after neighbours noticed a strong foul smell emanating from the house and alerted authorities.
Upon gaining entry, officers found the woman’s body wrapped in a bedsheet, with visible injuries to the head.
House Locked From Outside
Police further revealed that the door to the house had been locked from the outside, raising suspicion surrounding the circumstances of her death. The motive remains unknown, and no arrests have been made so far.
Investigations Ongoing
The body was removed from the scene and taken to a mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to establish the exact cause of death.
Confirming the incident, Nairobi County Police Commander George Seda said investigations are ongoing to determine who was responsible and the events leading up to the woman’s death.
