A police officer was killed on the spot after his motorbike collided head-on with another in the Ilasita area of Kajiado South, leaving two other people seriously injured.
Confirming the incident, Loitokitok Sub-County Police Commander Kiprotich Chepkwony said the officer, attached to Ilasit Police Post, was heading to the local market with a colleague after work when the crash occurred.
“They were on their way to the market to have their evening meal before tragedy struck,” Chepkwony told reporters.
The officer’s body was moved to Loitokitok Level 4 Hospital mortuary, while the two survivors are receiving treatment at the same facility for multiple injuries.
Chepkwony warned motorcyclists against riding under the influence of alcohol, noting that one of the civilian riders involved appeared to have been intoxicated at the time of the crash.
