Don’t Wait Till You Are in a Hurry!
Every week, I meet people who tell me, “I want to start my own business.” Some of them are genuinely passionate — but many have one thing in common: they keep waiting for the “perfect time.” Unfortunately, that perfect time never comes.
There are two types of people I often meet: those who waited too long and are now desperate for success, and those who are still waiting — hoping things will somehow align.
Let’s talk about both groups — and more importantly, what you can learn from them.
The First Group: Those Who Waited Too Long
This group has reached a breaking point.
Their children’s school fees are due, family responsibilities keep piling up, and the pressure to succeed is crushing.
They’re now in a hurry to make money — today!
They’re desperate, chasing quick success, asking questions like:
“What can I do to start making money right now?”
But success doesn’t work that way. Many people in this category fail because they’re not willing to pay the price of real growth. They want instant results — but shortcuts rarely work.
They try Ponzi schemes, gambling, or get-rich-quick tricks — only to end up poorer and more frustrated.
If this sounds like you, take a deep breath. It’s not too late. You can still rebuild — but only if you’re ready to put in the work, learn, and start small today.
The Second Group: Those Who Are Still Waiting
Then there’s the second group — those who keep saying, “I’ll start next month.”
They’re not under intense pressure yet, so they find it easy to postpone action. But years pass quickly, and before they know it, they’ve wasted five… ten… maybe more years just thinking about starting.
I know someone like that — he’s been talking about starting his business for nine years. Nine years of waiting, planning, and doing nothing.
And now? He’s desperate, just like the first group.
The Lesson: Start Before You’re Ready
If you’re reading this and you’re not yet overwhelmed by pressure, you are lucky. You have time — so use it wisely.
Go out there and do something crazy with your life.
Stop overthinking. Stop making excuses. Stop saying, “I’ll start when I get capital.”
Start with what you have.
Get your hands dirty.
Do whatever you can — as long as it’s honest.
You don’t need perfection. You need action.
As you work, keep reading business books, learning new skills, and surrounding yourself with people who think like entrepreneurs. That’s how real transformation begins.
Forget Shortcuts — Success Takes Time
Nature doesn’t reward shortcuts. Every seed takes time to grow.
When you plant a mango tree, you don’t wake up the next morning expecting fruits. You water it, protect it, and wait. That’s how success works.
The moment you start chasing “quick money,” you step into dangerous territory — and you risk losing everything.
Forget about making a million shillings tomorrow. Instead, focus on building your foundation today.
Even Colonel Sanders, the man who founded Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), started at 65 years old. He didn’t have money, but he had passion and patience. He was willing to start small and pay the price.
If he could do it, so can you.
It’s Not Too Late
Maybe you’ve procrastinated for years. Maybe you’ve failed before. That’s okay.
What matters is what you do next.
Start now. Take one small step. Focus your energy on building your own empire.
Don’t compare yourself to others. Don’t rush your journey. Just stay consistent.
Africa Needs You to Rise
Here’s a truth we often forget:
You don’t need Africa to change before you succeed. Africa needs you to change.
You don’t need Kenya to become richer before you thrive. Kenya needs you to become richer.
If more of us take bold steps, stop complaining, and start creating — Africa will transform from the ground up.
Stop waiting for perfect conditions. Be the change. Start your journey today.
Because success doesn’t happen when you’re desperate — it happens when you decide.
Final Thought
Don’t wait until you’re in a hurry.
Start while you still have time, energy, and peace of mind.
Do something bold with your life. Build something meaningful. And remember — the best time to start was yesterday. The second-best time is now.
I believe in you.
And I believe in Africa. 🌍
