A private vehicle involved in the purported abduction of George Koimburi, the Member of Parliament for Juja, was retrieved on Tuesday in Juja Township.

The vehicle’s owner, who is believed to be a close associate of Koimburi, was also taken into custody.

This associate is reported to have served as an agent for the UDA during the 2022 elections in the Juja Constituency.

Investigating detectives indicated that they are searching for a bodaboda that was allegedly utilized to transport the MP from a residence in the vicinity to the coffee plantation where he was discovered on Monday morning.

Police Spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga stated that the arrest marks a significant development in the case.

“He is the proprietor of a Subaru Forester, which is said to have obstructed the MP, resulting in the alleged abduction of the latter.”

Koimburi was reportedly kidnapped outside a church in Mugutha, Kiambu County, on Sunday.

He was subsequently located abandoned at a coffee plantation in Kiambu on Monday.

Authorities have asserted that the alleged abduction was orchestrated for political advantage.

The MP is currently hospitalized at Karen Hospital in Nairobi.

He has been receiving visitors but has chosen not to speak with the police who are investigating the case.

Law enforcement officials have stated that they are continuing to investigate the motives behind the incident.
