The family of Chief Inspector Nicholas Aguk Oballa, who tragically lost his life while on duty on February 7, has expressed their frustration over the lack of investigation into his death.
Chief Inspector Oballa, who served as the base commander at Embakasi Police Station, reportedly died while assisting with the presidential convoy at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
According to his family, he was struck by a reckless driver while directing the presidential party into the airport’s VIP area. They claim that the entire motorcade passed by the injured officer without stopping to help.
For the past four weeks, the family has been left in the dark, as no information about the vehicle or its occupants has been released. This apparent lack of action from the authorities has led them to suspect a possible cover-up.
The Director of Public Prosecutions and the Inspector General have acknowledged the complaint, and a requiem mass is scheduled to take place at the Nairobi Central SDA Church.
Now, the family is torn between demanding a swift investigation and grappling with their grief, all while unanswered questions continue to haunt them.
