Detectives are looking into a case involving a woman who reported losing Sh3.6 million outside a petrol station on Lunga Lunga Road in Nairobi’s Industrial Area.

According to her account, the assailants threatened her life if she attempted to call for help.

The woman explained to the police that she had just withdrawn the money from a bank to support her business when the gang, which appeared to have been following her, struck on the morning of Wednesday, February 5.

She was on the road with the cash in a bag and had stopped a short distance from the petrol station to take some medicine. Suddenly, she heard a loud crash as the car window shattered.

Two masked men on a motorcycle, armed and demanding her money, ordered her to hand over the cash. Fearing for her safety, she complied and gave them the money before they fled the scene.

After reporting the incident, police arrived to investigate and have since gathered security camera footage that recorded the event.

Authorities are actively pursuing the suspects, with Nairobi police commander George Sedah confirming that a dedicated team of detectives is on the case.
