A woman fatally stabbed a man who allegedly broke into her residence in Kerwa Town, Kiambu County.

Authorities reported that they have interviewed the woman to gather further details regarding the incident, which occurred in the early hours of January 5.

The deceased was discovered lying in the woman’s home with multiple stab wounds to the chest.

According to the woman, the man entered her house without consent, which led to a confrontation where she used a kitchen knife in self-defense.

She stated that she was asleep when she was awakened by noises coming from the living room.

This prompted her to confront the intruder, resulting in the fatal stabbing.

Police recovered the bloodied kitchen knife, which has been retained as evidence in the murder investigation.

The body has been transported to the mortuary for an autopsy and further inquiries.

Kiambu police commander Michael Muchiri confirmed that an investigation is underway.

In response to rising incidents of armed robberies, security measures have been intensified in various regions of the country.
