On Friday, an accident involving a private vehicle occurred along the Kericho-Awasi road, resulting in four fatalities.
According to police reports, one passenger survived the incident and is currently hospitalized with severe injuries.
The accident took place in the Pala region when the driver of a Nissan Vanette lost control, causing the vehicle to veer off the road.
Authorities indicated that the car ended up in a ditch, leading to the immediate deaths of the four individuals, which included the male driver, another male passenger, and two female passengers.
The sole survivor sustained a fractured left hand, as reported by the police.
Law enforcement arrived at the scene to assist in transporting the deceased to Ortho mortuary.
The vehicle has been towed to a local police station for further investigation.
Police have stated that an inquiry into the accident is ongoing. This incident follows a troubling trend of increased fatal accidents over the past week, which have resulted in approximately 20 deaths.
Recent incidents include seven fatalities on the Narok-Mai Mahiu road and four in Mariakani, Kilifi County.
Numerous others are currently receiving treatment for injuries sustained in these accidents.
