A female student who sat in this year’s KCSE examinations is currently receiving medical care at Migori Level Four Hospital following an assault by her boyfriend, a bodaboda rider, in Suna East, Migori County.
Ngege Sub-location Assistant Chief Celine Anyango reported that the suspect, named David Odhiambo, allegedly attacked the 18-year-old student, Whitney, and is presently evading capture.
Anyango indicated that law enforcement has initiated a search for the suspect and is optimistic about his imminent arrest.
The Assistant Chief also mentioned that the details surrounding the incident remain unclear.
However, some community members speculate that the victim may have tried to end her relationship with the suspect.
Anyango added that further information will be obtained from the survivor to clarify the motive behind the assault.
In the meantime, she advised young individuals and adolescents to steer clear of relationships that could expose them to Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
