Two individuals were arraigned on Friday at the Milimani Law Courts to answer to several charges pertaining to computer fraud.

Alex Kimaiyo Kiprono and Emmanuel Kipkoech Rotich faced allegations of unlawfully accessing bank accounts and making unauthorized withdrawals.

In a significant case, they purportedly compromised the security systems of a local financial institution, resulting in the transfer of over Ksh.1.8 million from a joint account.

At the request of investigators, the court granted a five-day detention period for Rotich to facilitate further inquiries.

Conversely, Kiprono was granted release on a bond of Ksh.1 million, with the alternative of a cash bail set at Ksh.650,000.
