Authorities are investigating a tragic event that occurred at a concrete manufacturing facility in Makutano, located in Mwea Sub-County, Kirinyaga County.
The incident involved the fatal crushing of a machine operator in an accident.
As reported by the management of the concrete company, the victim, identified as 31-year-old Joseph Ndichu, was regarded as one of the most skilled employees in the organization.
“His proficiency and commitment to his role rendered him an invaluable asset to our team. We are heartbroken over this incident and are currently awaiting the official postmortem report for additional information,” the management stated.
Family members of the deceased have expressed their profound grief, with Lucy Njoki Kariuki, a close relative, finding it difficult to accept the loss.
“It is hard to believe that Joseph Ndichu is gone. He was not only a family member but also a reliable support for us. His absence is truly heartbreaking,” Lucy remarked, clearly overwhelmed with sorrow.
The loss of Joseph has created a significant gap, particularly as he was the main provider for his family, intensifying the tragedy for those he left behind.
