Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has criticized the government for the rising incidents of abductions and arbitrary arrests, highlighting the recent detention of Savannah Clinker chairman Benson Ndeta.
While addressing attendees at a church service at St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Racecourse, Nakuru, Kalonzo, joined by fellow opposition leaders, urged the clergy to pray against the escalating culture of abductions and the challenges in governance.
Kalonzo, along with other opposition figures, participated in the service with Catholic congregants, continuing his critique of the Kenya Kwanza administration for what he termed harassment and the erosion of lawful practices.
In his address, Kalonzo accused the government of targeting successful businesses, suggesting a connection to the contentious affordable housing initiative.
“All these conflicts are linked to affordable housing… people are being forced to relinquish their companies… A well-organized Kenyan businessman achieves success, and they want to thwart him. They do not want him to acquire this industry,” he stated.
Kalonzo also denounced the increasing instances of abductions, warning that such actions are leading the nation toward a governance crisis. He called for a united opposition against these developments, stressing the importance of all Kenyans in opposing poor governance.
“This is why we say the next wave of protests will not just be Gen Z but all generations. Kenyans have reached their limit. Those collecting taxes are misusing the funds, and the money is going to private individuals. This e-citizen initiative will not deter us. We will be very active; we will not let the country deteriorate,” he asserted.
His views were supported by other leaders, including Eugene Wamalwa, the Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-K) leader, who called on the government to respect the rule of law.
“Let us be a nation that follows the rule of law, not the rule of deceit. End abductions, end corruption,” Wamalwa urged.
