On Friday, Bata commemorated a major milestone, celebrating 130 years of global success and 85 years of presence in Kenya. The special event took place at Mathare North Primary School in Ruaraka Constituency.
As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, Bata generously donated 1,538 pairs of school shoes and sanitary pads to students, reinforcing their dedication to supporting underprivileged communities.
The event was attended by notable figures, including Bata’s Managing Director, Benson Okumu, Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang, and Mathare North MCA Oscar Lore. The primary goal was to assist boys and girls from marginalized backgrounds.

During his speech, Okumu emphasized the company’s long-standing mission to uplift marginalized communities. He also announced plans to launch mentorship programs aimed at fostering a supportive learning environment for students, equipping them with the tools and guidance necessary for academic and personal success.
In addition to its charitable contributions, Bata unveiled plans for expansion, including the opening of a new branch in Kapenguria, West Pokot County. This move aligns with Bata’s broader vision of promoting regional equity by making its products and services more accessible to all Kenyans.
