The Nairobi Hospital Admitting Staff Association has declared that in response to their demand that the board of directors resign, they will cease operations on Monday, 16, 2024.

The Kenya Hospital Association stated in the notice that they will support the hospital’s doctors until the purported crisis at the facility is resolved.

They stated that only patients who have already been admitted will receive medical care after the strike begins, and no new admissions will be accepted.

In addition, the Association urged the public to back the doctors’ action in advance of the scheduled Extraordinary General Meeting for September 18, 2024.

This comes after the Kenya Hospital Association alleged that conflicts of interest, cronyism, and nepotism are being used to run the Nairobi Hospital, linking it to accusations of corruption and poor administration.

The hospital said that the allegations “are choreographed out of frustration by individuals who have failed to manipulate our sound governance structures for their own selfish gain, and have now resorted to mounting a smear campaign against the Hospital.”

The board of administration of the hospital urged whoever was making the accusations to present proof so that the guilty might be held accountable.
