Following a brawl between two student groups at Dagoretti High School in Nairobi, more police officers were sent to the school on Monday.
When students got into a fight over a basketball game they were playing, according to the police, at least 11 of them were injured.
The altercation began on Sunday night and escalated into a religious incident that lasted into the night.
Then, in the confusion, groups attacked each other with sticks and stones.
When a fight broke out between Form One and Form Four students, they were reportedly playing basketball at the school, according to the police.
As a result, there were fights between Kenyan and Sudanese students.
11 Sudanese students as consequently had minor injuries and were taken in stable condition to Garden Medical Clinic.
According to police, more mayhem was reported on Sunday night, which has now turned religious.
More police officers were dispatched to the area to assist resolve the violence.
Tension remained high on Monday, with extra police officers stationed there.
According to police, more deployments are being made to handle the situation.
