As of Wednesday, the Premier League team announced that Brentford has acquired Gustavo Nunes, a young forward, from Brazilian Serie A team Gremio.

According to Brentford, the 18-year-old has agreed to a six-year contract with a two-year option.

Thomas Frank, the coach of Brentford, stated on the team website, “It is another good signing; we have fought with other clubs.”

“He is a winger who can go past players one-on-one. He is direct and he can create. Gustavo has a lot of potential and of course we need to maximise that in every aspect. He needs time to settle, but this is a very exciting signing.”

In February of 2024, Nunes made his debut for the first squad after enrolling in Gremio’s youth program in 2021.

In the Brazilian top division, he made 20 appearances for Gremio this season, tallying three goals and dishing out one assist.
