An accident on the Kisumu-Busia route has claimed one life.
The woman was killed in a hit-and-run event at the Lolwe region of Gem Yala, according to Siaya County police chief Cleti Kimaiyo.
Kimaiyo said that it is still unclear who the deceased, who was thought to be in her 40s, was.
The body was taken to the mortuary at Yala Sub County Hospital by police officers from a local police station.
Authorities further stated that the facility would hold a postmortem and identification exercise.
The chief of county police stated that the driver of the unfortunate car is still being sought after.
