The main suspect in the horrifying killings of victims discovered dumped at the Kware dumpsite in Mukuru kwa Njenga, in the Embakasi South Constituency, has made a startling confession about how he carried out his heinous deed.
Mohamed Amin, the director of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), confirmed on Monday that the 33-year-old suspect Collins Jomaisi Khalisia had confessed to killing 42 women between 2022 and July 11, 2024, the day he killed his final victim.
According to Amin, Khalisia hinted that he killed his wife by strangulation, severed her limbs, and disposed of her body at the dumpsite.
“Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to have lured, killed and disposed 42 female bodies at the dumpsite all murdered between 2022 and as recent of July 11, 2024,” said Amin.
“The suspect claimed to have killed his wife Imelda Judith Khalenya by strangulation, then dismembered and disposed of her body at the same location. According to the interrogation, every one of his victims was killed in a similar manner.”
Amin continued, saying that following a coordinated operation by officials from the DCI and the National Police Service (NPS), Khalisia was taken into custody in Kayole early on Monday morning.
“He was arrested outside a club where he had gone to watch the Euro 2024 football finals,” Amin said.
“His arrest followed thorough forensic analysis of a mobile phone belonging to one of the victims identified as Josephine Owino where some mobile money transactions were made when she went missing.”
Soon after his arrest, he took police to his single-room house in Kware Area, which is roughly 100 meters from the dumpsite.
