In Kavuvwani B village, Kavuvwani location, Kitui County, a 3-year-old child seemingly consumed the remains of a green mamba snake, which resulted in his death.
Salim Mwendwa, the minor’s grandfather, killed and burned the snake within their house complex, according to a police report dated Saturday.
The child is then reported to have eaten the snake’s carcass while under the grandmother Margret Nzangi Mwendwa’s custody.
Salim immediately reported the event to Mwingi Police Station, prompting investigators to visit the property and document the incident.
In anticipation of a postmortem, the body has been moved to the mortuary at Mwingi Level IV Hospital.
