Thanks to Fintex East Africa, the furniture, woodworking, interior design, and finishing industries are about to go through a major metamorphosis in step with the rapidly evolving digital age.
Christine Songole, the State Department of Public Works’ Chief Interior Designer, spoke at the event in Nairobi and called the project an eye-opening chance to learn from Ethiopia’s development of its furniture sector.
On August 8–10, 2024, Ethiopia’s largest furniture show with regional endorsements will officially open. It will have special elements including business matchmaking, cross-industry networking, hosted buyers, a summit, and an exhibition with more than 500 local, regional, and multinational companies.
Speakers at the summit, which will be hosted by high-end visitors from the UK, Malaysia, Ethiopia, and other countries, will be boosting the standard of international fair with a focus on enhancing the genuine economic and branding value of the furniture, woodwork, interior design, and finishing industries.
Four distinct parties signed Memoranda of Understandings (MoUs) at the launch.
In order to promote, support, and enable economic growth, African Trusted Partners (ATP) and the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce signed the first Memorandum of Understanding.
The second agreement included how to better the industrial wood supply, develop alternative wood raw materials, and strategically plan for the furniture sector. It was made between KEFRI and ATP.
In addition to bolstering economic connections and encouraging cooperative projects between the parties, the Association of Designers of Kenya (ADKE) and ATP inked their most recent agreement, which aimed to collaborate on summit organization.
