An American Embassy engineer was shot and killed after a brawl outside a popular Kiambu night club on Saturday night. The fight started with accusations by groups that one another was wooing their ladies.

Court documents that describe the horrific Saturday night event that claimed the life of Anthony Njomo Kiuno, 35, indicate this.

Joseph Njenga and Nason Kiteme are identified as the first and second respondents in the court documents.

It is alleged that on Saturday, a dispute over ladies turned violent between two groups of people out for a fun-filled night.

“The first respondent was at Quick-in Lounge promoting the music of one musician John Njagi with others when a misunderstanding between the second respondent and his party arose. A fight between the two parties started, where the group of the first respondent and the second respondent disagreed about each group accusing the other on seducing their women.” a DCI officer investigating the murder told the Kiambu law courts.

It is reported that during the altercation outside the nightclub, one of the groups was protected by armed security.

Investigations reveal that the shooting victim was not part of the ruckus.

The two suspects will be placed on remand for a period of ten days as detectives look into the murder.

The alleged shooter is still at large and is the target of detectives’ ongoing investigations.

The Quick-in Lounge, the location of the alleged incident, informed the media in a statement on Sunday that police were now looking into the event after receiving access to CCTV footage.
