An infant drowned to death in the Ndigwa sub-location of Rarieda, Siaya County, casting a sombre mood over the area.
On Thursday night, the one-and-a-half-year-old child drowned in a pool in Osembo village.
South Uyoma Chief Symprose Langi reported the incident to the Madiany Police station, according to Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo.
“She informed police that she received a call from a villager informing her about the incident,” Kimaiyo stated.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the baby’s lifeless body in his mother’s house.
It was determined that before going to the farm, the deceased’s mother, Peris Auma, had left him in the care of his brother, Glen Washington.
The body was taken to the mortuary of the Madiany Sub County Hospital.
