Rita Tinina, a renowned TV personality, passed away.
According to people with knowledge of the situation, the NTV current affairs reporter was discovered dead inside her house in Nairobi’s Kileleshwa neighborhood on Sunday.
She was supposed to report to the station before to the 1 p.m. bulletin for an assignment, but she did not show up.
According to reports, the station sent a crew to her house, where they discovered her lifeless body.
According to reports, Tinina’s family was at the house when the investigating police showed up to take her body.
At the time of publishing, the cause of her death was still unknown. As the police began their investigation into the tragedy, they moved her remains to a mortuary.
She was praised by former KTN News presenter Lindah Oguttu, who described her as a mentor who helped her succeed in the media.
“I am who I am because I stood on her shoulders while at NTV. Go well my darling. Rita Tinina, the hand that held mine and never let go. I am broken,” she stated.
Regarding the reporter’s passing, neither her family nor her employer, Nation Media Group, have released a statement.
With over ten years of journalism experience, Tinina is a beloved media figure.
Before going on to work as a senior correspondent at KTN News in 2012, she was employed at the Nation Media Group (NMG). She would later return to NTV in October 2023.
She only had one child.
