Following an accident involving the vehicles they traveled in along Machakos – Kitui Road in Machakos County, twelve individuals suffered injuries.
Ten men and two women were among the injured.
According to Nancy Jerobon, the commander of Mwala subcounty police, the event happened on Sunday in the Makutano ma Mwala region of the subcounty.
At approximately 5.45 am, a minibus collided with a mini-matatu at the mentioned place, resulting in the accident.
“It happened that one Andrew Kitaa was driving a Mitsubishi FH mini heading towards Machakos general direction from Kitui general direction and on reaching the point of accident, hit a motor vehicle that was in front of it moving in the same direction, a Toyota Hiace, driven by one Joshua Munyau on the rear right side,” Jerobon stated
She added that on Sunday morning, the incident was recorded as a slight traffic accident to the Masii police station.
According to the police chief, the crash severely damaged both vehicles.
She revealed that the victims had head, limb, back, neck, jaw, eye, lip, and nose injuries.
The driver of the minibus was taken to Machakos Level 5 Hospital in fair condition for specialized care, while the other patients were rushed to Masii Level 3 Hospital.
According to Jerobon, her police had come and investigated the scene.
According to her, the debris was hauled to the Masii police station for inspection.
The accident is being looked into by the police.
