A 47-year-old man from Mung’ang’a, Miambani in Kitui County passed away on Sunday while undergoing treatment for injuries from a machete that he apparently received during a land fight.
The man was being treated at the Kitui Level 4 Hospital after having been taken there by his family, according to Muthoka Kilonzo, the area chief.
“He cried for help but by the time his family arrived at the house, he had been attacked and the perpetrators fled. We suspected the attack is linked to a land tussle but we are investigating and urge members of the community to help us with any information they might have,” the chief said.
As an investigation into the circumstances behind the incident began, three individuals were taken into custody.
