In order to take part in the Italy-Africa Summit, President William Ruto is scheduled to visit Rome, Italy, this Sunday.

Ruto will be attending the summit in his capacity as the Chair of the Committee of African Heads of State and Government on Climate Change (CAHOSCC), according to a statement from State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed. He is also anticipated to give a speech on energy security during the summit.

“A Bridge for Common Growth” is the topic of this year’s conference.

Together with the other twenty heads of state, Ruto will talk about important areas of cooperation such as energy security, food security, culture, education, and vocational training; other sectors include economic and infrastructure development; and fighting terrorism and human trafficking.

According to Mohamed, the leaders would go over the agreements made in their subsequent meetings with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and during President Mattarella’s State Visit to Kenya last year.

Ruto and President Mattarella are scheduled to speak in order to promote mutual collaboration.

During his tour, Ruto will also establish bilateral relationships with leaders of the European Union (EU), the World Bank, the IMF, and African leaders involved in peace efforts in Sudan, South Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
